Hum, a town in the central part of Istria, 14 km southeast of Buzet on a hill above the Mirna valley.
This small town has population only 30 people, so Hum is known as the smallest town in the world. The first information about Hum is from year 1102. The border defences in the middle Ages were separated Austria and Venice’s republic. There are still some parts of border defences. The local church of St. Jeronymus has a mural of 12 – 17 century. The interest of Hum is that, they vote their town mayor each year, always the second Sunday in June.
